#5 High Concept Documentation

This is a High Concept Documentation for one of the ideas

Name: Climby Cat

Target audience: Everyone

Platform: Mobile


You’re a cat climbing a cliff, the goal is to get the highest score, each finger pocket or crack you climb gives you a point.

The controls similar to piano tiles where they have to touch the screen very quickly to ascend but the player has to touch the left or right side of the screen (or use arrow keys) to ascend, the player can ascend if they climb on a finger pocket or an edge, if the player climbed on something like a hole in wall or uneven surface, the cat will fall which results in a game over. The cat can also fall if the payer stops for a few seconds.


This game takes place on multiple maps randomly selected when the game game starts or the player presses the reset button.

The cat would be climbing:

  • A tall tree

  • Cliff

  • Mountain

  • Setting a record and trying to beat it.

  • Very fast paced, gives the player that adrenaline rush.

  • Addicting gameplay making the player want to come back to the game

  • Competitivity, the players can best their friends highscore


Key Gameplay Mechanics

  • Tap either the left or the right side of the screen to climb either the left or right side of the cliff.

  • Getting the high score and beating other players high scores.

  • Online Leaderboards to see what other players high scores are.

  • Earn coins by getting to a certain score, the higher your score the more coins you get, coins are used to buy different skins for your cat

Next thing i’m going to do is continue with the High concept documentation by adding things like

  • How the game will teach the player how to play
  • Font
  • How do the coins the work
  • How can the player lose
  • What happens when you lose
  • What can the cat climb and what can’t the cat climb
